An interesting suggestion I have heard is that the name Bynea is a corruption of the Welsh 'heb un iau' 'without a yoke' and refers to the time when oxen were allowed to ford at the river at Loughor unyoked.

Jones. - Caio, Caeo
Edward Jones's birthplace in the Census for 1881 is described as Caeo, Carmarthenshire. In Welsh=Cynwyl Gaeo. He was born 24/1/1841, but I do not know his parents. He was a farmer. Dwelling: Cerrig Cwmwd, Llandingat, Carmarthenshire. Marrying Anne Powell about 1870, their children were all born in Wales and then the family moved to farm at Ashby Magna, Leicestershire. There they remained. Anne Powell's parents moved from Laugharne to Cefentrenfa, Cilycwm where they remained. Sister Lizzie Powell was married in 1893 to John Hinds MP for West Carmarthenshire from 1910-1918. Any help would be greatly appreciated in finding Edward's parents.

Searching for my GG Grandparents,Thomas Rees Davies,and wife Jane. They lived at Ty Coch farm Gwynfe between 1776-1860s.They had six children,Thomas and Jane are buried in the chapel at Bethlehem, along with some of their family. Does the farm still exist? Has anyone information on the family of Griffith Glyn Williams? His son Aylwin Llewellyn married a Eunice ? who was awarded the OBE for saving her mother/mother-in-law from a house fire in the 1950's There was a collection and a new farm house was built for Aylwin and Eunice. Their children were called Eric and Iris and I believe the family moved to Port Talbot. My Grandmother was married at Jerusalum Chapel Gwynfe and stayed at Gwynfe Cottage. cheers Rosemary

I have found entries for a few men called Wyrewood Rees but not the connection - there must be one with such an unusual name. Marriage cert. for Rachel Rees & John Williams gives her father as Rees Rees. Her address at the time was 'Rose & Crown'. John's father, also John was given as 'inn-keeper' Bankyreithyn.

Can anyone help with information about the Evans family who lived at Bwlarth Farm and later at the Mill, Llandebie. Evan Evans born about 1789 to Elizabeth had children Evan, David, Thomas, John, Ann. Rachel, Amy, William, and Elizabeth. David became the miller after his father and his widow Anne after him. They farmed as well as running the mill. Evan was also treasurer of Llandyfan Church and the son William became a preacher and moved to America. I am descended from John who settled in Cwmbach Aberdare. Have information about some of the family but there are many gaps. Can anyone help. Will happily share my knowledge with interested parties.

My ancestor John Jones of Llandovery had two daughters-my gggrandmother Sarah who married John Rees and had 2 children{{my ggrandmother Sarah Isbella Humphreys and David ,a missionary to India} and a daughter Margaret b 1823;she went into service with a peer,was engaged to a footman but was jilted and stayed in service,eventually becoming housekeeper with the courtesy title of Mrs.She died aged 92 in 1915,leaving mygrandmother and her siblings 320 each. Does this ring any bells with anyone?
