Muggleton family tree - Grantchester
Mrs Florence Emmines, formerly Miss Florence Muggleton of Grantchester, will be planting an ornamental pear tree outside the village hall in Grantchester after the church service on the morning of Sunday August 31st 2008.The tree is being planted on behalf of the Muggleton families & will replace the Christmas tree that stood on the site & was planted by Harold Muggleton for the Queens silver jubilee. The roots of the Christmas tree were causing damage to the village hall & so had to be removed, we have been told the same should not happen with the new tree.Following a reunion of Muggletons at the village hall last year it was voted to give a tree to the village to further enhance the beauty of the place & to remind folk of the Muggleton family tree.A Joseph Muggleton & mary Ann Boutle married in Grantchester church 17th jan. 1822 they were the founders of a large family of Muggletons in the village, now the family have moved world wide & where once there were many Muggleton's in the village now there are none by name but still many with the Muggleton blood. On saturday 30th August Lucy Barnes a 4x great grandaughter of Joseph & Mary Ann Muggleton will follow in their tradition by getting married at Grantchester church. It is hoped as many as possible will come to watch the tree planting & chat to Florrie, now 88 , who has many fond memories of the village of yesteryear.

Arbon Names - Graveley
Seek Arbon family information in & around Graveley

Thurley of Graveley CAM - Graveley
My interests: THURLEY and variations including THURLOW, THIRLEY, THIRLEIGH, THURLY and THIRNELL. The latter name is, I believe, a change of name that the original THURLEY family in Graveley took on, but for what reason, I may never know. One family that I am aware of in Graveley: in 1749 there was a marriage between a George THIRLEY and an Anne CASTLEMAINE, both of Graveley by Banns. From Graveley, I think members of the family found their way to other nearby villages such as Yelling, Hilton, Fenstanton, Swavesey, Conington, Elsworth.
