TWEED Family from 1687 to 1811 - Cheveley
My family of Tweeds lived in Cheveley for generations. John Tweed (1688-1763) marrioed Elizabeth DEARE in 1716. Their son Thomas Tweed (1760-1841) married Mary PRICE in 1779. Their son, also Thomas, maried Hannah FITCH in 1804. Finally their daughter Mary Ann (1811-1896) married William FRANKS in Wood Ditton and thereafter lived out her life there. Pleased to hear from any descendants of these families.

DEARE Family 1624 - - Cheveley
The Deare family first appear in Cheveley in 1624 with Jeffrey Deare (wife unknown) appearing from nowhere and baptising 7 children. His son William (1630-1710) (wife also unknown) had 7 children, the last of which was Henry (1663-1707)Henry married Mary FREEMAN and had 6 children, one of whom Elizabeth (1699-??) married John Tweed in 1716 and baptised 6 children. Am seeking (a) Jeffrey's baptism and marriage, (b) William's marriage(s) and (c) Elizabeth Tweed's burial

CUTTRESS Edward (Yeoman) c1650-1718 - Cheveley
Edward Cuttress and his wife Katherine baptised 6 children in Cheveley betwen 1681 and 1689, and both lived out their lives and were buried here. But where did they come from? Where and when did they marry?

BEETON Ann (later Cuttress) c 1685-1783 - Cheveley
Ann Beeton appears from nowhere to marry Edmund Cuttress in Cheveley in 1705. They baptised 6 children here and both were buried here. But where did she come from? Any Beeton connections appreciated.

NORBERRY Thomas c 1560-1629 - Cheveley
Thomas Norberrie married Alice IMYN at Chevely in 1582. Their baptism dates are probably too early for the register which starts in 1559. His father is possibly the Thomas Norberrie buried in 1591, and the Elizabeth Norberrie who married in 1582 and Ann in 1584 are probably his sisters. Has anyone researched this family via the parish chest, wills etc and managed to establish or disprove any of these facts?

Charles Bird b.1791 Cheveley - Cheveley
I am looking for information (or descendants!) of the Bird family. My direct relation is Charles Bird, parents John Bird and Jane Reeve. I would like to know if Charles had any siblings. I suspect he may have had brothers William and Matthew and some sisters, but have no proof as yet. Charles lived in Barrow Suffolk later in life.

My great great grandfather married a Rosanna Martin from Coveney, his name was John James Spencer, although I think he originated from Lincolnshire, he was living in Coveney at the time of the marriage. Rosanna's mother's name was Jane, I do not have any information on her father. Any information appreciated.

They had 4 children: Agnes M (B:1878 Manea, Cambs M: Mr Ingalls(?)), John Thomas/Tom(B:1880 Elm, Cambs, M: Florence), Ada Mary(B:1885 Coldham, Cambs, M: 1908 John James Spriggs, D: 29th Nov 1951) - my direct ancestor, and Mable(B:1894 Coldham, M: Fred Bonnett). In 1871 Charles was lodging with John Redhead in Welches Dam, Cambridgeshire. From 1881 - 1891 Charles was married and living at Peartree Hill Road, Elm, Cambridgeshire. In 1901 He was living with his 2 youngest daughters at 65 Pingle Bridge, Upwell, Norfolk Please contact me if you have any further information about their ancestors. Thank you :D
