Daisley Family - Cambridge
searching for Mary Watson nee Daisley who lived Thoday Street in the early 1920's. She was my mother in law Mary Howlett nee Daisley grandmother. Mary Watson had several children before she married.One of her sons Stephen married Ivy Beagles and was Mary Howlett's parents. He was killed 1916 and never saw his daughter. Stephen had a pidgeon loft in the garden of Thoday Street,he had brothers Richard,Albert and Percy I think that there was also a daughter Annie who married a soldier.

Looking for Childrens Homes in Cambridge from 1905. My Gt Aunt (Violet A. Day) was placed in a Home on the death of her mother in about 1909. She stayed there as pupil and later as a housemother/teacher until she retired. Any help tracking down the home would be appreciated. I think the Home may have been in the St Andrew The Less district.

KUROWSKI - Cambridge
Researching JOSEPHINE KUROWSKI. In 1871 & 1881 census shown as teacher at a ladies boarding school run by the Misses Thorndick 35 Bridge Street Cambridge. Josephine was born in London 30-8-1852, christened St Martins in the Fields 11-9-1853. Her Father was Joseph (Jozef) Kurowski who married her Mother Ann Amelia Conolly, in London, 2-11-1851. Ann Amelia died during first quarter of 1855. No trace has been found of Josephine until her appearance in 1871 census, equally nothing known after 1881 although the boarding school had disappeared by 1887.

My geat great grandfather was a tailor in Cambridge in 1841. He died at the age of 46, the same year his last child (of 8) was born. His wife Susan(nee Seymour) was first married to William Loakes who died around 1830. She worked as a college servant & bedmaker. Ezra & Susan's daughter Elizabeth Frances was my great grandmother. Does anyone have any knowledge of these families? I would like to find out which college Susan worked at also. Susan's parents were Matthew Seymour & Ann Francis.

Skeggs Miller - Cambridge
I'm looking for any information on the Skeggs family (from Huntingdon). Particulary Fanny Skeggs born c. 1823. I think her father was Thomas Skeggs and her mother was called Ann (surname unknown). Fanny was married to John Miller they lived in Cambridge and they had several children all with the surname Skeggs Miller. In 1871 I find Fanny Skeggs in the Cambridge Union Workhouse with a son called Phillip Skeggs while the rest of the family are all still living together in Cambridge. Does anyone know why?

I am looking for any descendants of Charlotte & John Frederick RIPLEY of Cambridge. They had 9 children between 1865 & 1886, all born in Cambridge. In 1901 John & Charlotte were living at Madingley Mill, Madingley St Mary. The eldest daughter - Mary Elizabeth - was living at 73 Mill Rd, Cambridge with 5 of her brothers and sisters. Thomas Ely?? (1725-1782) - Cambridge
I am a direct descendant of Thomas Ely. He left England to come to America in approx. 1750. He settled in Virginia. He met an Irish Girl, Elizabeth Jane Smith on the way and married her. They had 12 kids, which hundreds of years later ended up with me. Here si the problem, None of Thomas Ely's descendants here in the US can find out a thing about him before he came over here. Who were his parents? Where was he from? What did he do? If anyone has any information on This man (Born in 1725 in England), please let me know. Thank you!

Henry Frederick Thurston - Cambridge
Further to my entry for John Thurston. Henry Frederick was the first son of Henry John Thurston (Baker) and a brother to William Christopher and Florence Mary Ann. Frederick Arthur was also possibly a brother or even Henry Frederick changed his christian names to Frederick Arthur as there does not appear to be a marriage or a death registered in the name of Henry Frederick from 1871-1955.Henry Frederick was born 16/07/1871 Florence Mary Ann was born 06/08/1873 and William Christopher was born 01/02/1875. Henry Frederick in Mile End others in Cambridge. 1881 census shows them at 19 Staffordshire Gdns Cambridge.

Hoye, Twinn - Cambridge
Walter Charles Hoye married Alice Twinn June 1893 in Cambridge They had four daughters and two sons. Edith, Annie,Walter,Lilian,Sidney & Beatrice born between 1890 and 1904 in Cambridge. Sidney Featherstone Hoye who was born in 1902 went to Ontario Canada in 1925, he married Rose Durrant, they lived in Simcoe, Ont. When he died in August 1965 the four sisters all attended his funeral in Simcoe. Their married names being Ann Gautherope,Lillie Edwards,Bibs Brown all of Cambridge, and Edith Moore of Gloucester. Sidney and Rose had also adopted a boy called Boysie Gerald (Stewart) Hoye. Searching for any decendants of any of the family members please, or anyone who has any knowledge of same. Thank you

Casey / Metcalfe - Cambridge
Looking for information on Eliza Casey born c1835 in Cambridgeshire, she married John or Thomas Metcalfe born c1833, date and place of marriage unknown but their children were all born in the London area, children were John c1853, Maria c1860, Albert c1862, Elizabeth 1865 and Frances Annie 1869. John Metcalfe died sometime between 1869 and 1881 as Eliza is shown as a widow on the 1881 Census. The only Eliza Casey I have found in the Cambridgehire area is on the 1841 Census which shows her as aged 6 (1835) parents were John Casey and Elizabeth, census address River Lane, St. Andrew The Less, Cambridge. Any information no matter how small would be helpful, thanks.
