HAZLEWOOD - Soham
I am looking for any information on the HAZLEWOOD family. SOPHIA HAZLEWOOD born about 1819 had a daughter called SOPHIA (possible surname GEORGE or HAZLEWOOD) born about 1837 in Soham? In 1841 Census Thomas Sophia & daughter Sophia lived in Hollen St London, she later married THOMAS WILLIAM GEORGE in 1842 in London and went on to have 8 children in all. The nmarriage certificate shows SOPHIA's father as JOHN HAZLEWOOD occupation "Gamekeeper", presumably in Soham. Any information would be greatly appreciated. UPDATED INFORMATION :- I am now fairly sure that the Sophia Hazlewood I am looking for was the daughter of John & Mary Hazlewood and she was baptised in Dec' 1817. John Hazlewood was an Inn Keeper at the Red Lion, Soham until about 1830. John & Mary had other children - Eliza born 1825 & a son, John born in 1830 (who later moved to Litchurch, Birmingham). The only trace I can find of Sophia Hazlewoods daughter in 1837 is that of a Baptism in September 1937 of a baby girl to Sophia Hazlewood a "Single Woman", however the girl was baptised "Victoria Isaacson". I think this is the Sophia & daughter that I am seeking - mother & daughter may have moved to London, where she met my Gt Gt Gt Grandfather (they may have changed her daughters name).
