William Henry Jones
- Colnbrook
William Henry Jones born Ealing Middlesex approx 1813, on the 1851 Census Langley Marish(Colnbrook), wife Mary born Datchett, living as lodgers with James Cox born Horton and his wife Patience born Iver Bucks. William Henry and Mary Jones's children were Mary Ann Jones born 1846, William Jones(my great grandfather) born 1849, this was the entry for the 1851 Census. For the 1861 Census Langley Marish Bucks Foli0 63 Pg 5 Schedule 29, William Henry(now calling himself William)aged 48 years Haybinder born Ealing and his wife Mary Jones aged 38 years born Datchet Bucks were living at The High Street Colnbrook with their children Mary Ann aged 15 years, James Jones aged 9 years, Edward Jones aged 7 years, Elizabeth Jones aged 5, Charles Jones aged 4, Emma Jones aged 2 and Henry Jones aged 3 months, this was the Census for 1861. They added to their family Emily Frances who was born 1864, all the children were born Colnbrook. My Great Grandfather William was 12 years in 1861 and because he was not listed on the Census may well have been working away from home, perhaps apprenticed to someone, however I have found my Great Grandfather William on the 1881 Census living at Battersea, also for the 1891 and 1901 Census he and his wife Mary Elizabeth(nee Dunham) and some of their children were still living with them and working in the family business. If anyone can connect with this family and knows anything of William Henry born 1813 in Ealing we would appreciate any information

Exclusive Private School
- Datchet
At a place called Cedar House in the village of Datchet, an extension was contructed to cater for the schooling and tutoring of local children whose parents were able to afford a little extra. The school was run by two refined young ladies who livedin the house and ran the school during the day.
One of these ladies was Eleanor (Elinor) Young who, on 11 Nov 1813, married my 4th GGFather in the village.
He was to become Sir John Chapman, who was knighted for his service to the Castle and to thetown of Windsor. He was a surgeon, Mayor in 1823 and a prominent figure in the local community at the time.
However, I have very little information about her other than that they had a son, Henry Young Chapman who also became a surgeon.
Do you know any more about anything I have mentioned or do you want any more information I may have that may help you? Please send me an email and we may be able to assist each other.

cooper reginald/mary elizabeth
- Dinton
Reginald cooper born 1856/mary elizabeth born 1857 They had eight children . their family home was 6, boot lane . where reginald cooper raised pigs and smoked them for local consumption and his wife worked lace to pay the cost of the land refermation taxes. they also bought up several of their grandchildren one of them Reginald frank cooper who went to war in the 1st. world war and lost his leg while in battle at the very young age of only 19years. He however after many operations and some time in the chelsea hospital, London . gained a new career and became a shoe maker. He was also one of the first chelsea pensioners we believe . He married late in life and had a daughter. Much of the family moved around the area and some went on the first boat to the new continet from Plymouth hoe. However it is said that (this is family talk) the first woman to be hung for murder in The americas
was Alice Cooper who shot a man for bad behaviour. There are many coopers around the area still and the cottage in boot lane is I believe still there,
