Noah
- Chesham
I am researching the NOAH family. My great grandfatherÕs name was Arthur Noah and he was born in Berkhamsted in Hertfordshire in 1886. I have found out from looking at census records that he was the second youngest of 11 children. His fatherÕs name was William Noah (b.1844) and he was born in Ley Hill, Buckinghamshire. His wifeÕs name was Hannah and I think her maiden name was Puddephatt.
Williams fatherÕs name was Joseph (b. about 1817?) and his mothers name was Elizabeth (n? Scott). I have found quite a few Noahs with connections to either Chesham or Berkhamsted as well as a larger number in other places in Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire as well as Bedfordshire and London.
I would be happy to share or receive any information regarding the Noah family. At the moment I am trying to establish the connection between Joseph Noah and his descendants and other Noahs in Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire. I know that Joseph had several brothers and sisters who were christened at the Baptist Old Meeting House in Chesham and that his parents were William and Sarah Noah.

SEABROOK YOUNG c.1802, Chesham, Bucks
- Chesham
Please, can anybody help me? I am trying to find information on my GG Grandfather, Seabrook Young who was born in Chesham, Berks around 1803. His family were dissenters, so were not registered with the Church of England. I know he had at least one child, my G Grandfather, John Young b. 1829 in Marylebone, Seabrook having married Mary Ann North in 1823 in St Marylebone Parish Church, but no baptisms show after that date. In 1839 after his first wife's death, he remarried Susannah Hay and on the certificate it shows his father as John Young, tailor (deceased). I can track Seabrook on the 1861 census living at 31 Circus Street, Bryanston Square Ward, Marylebone with his 2nd wife and working as a Wood Sawyer. I have confirmed his name and work from his son John's marriage certificate, but I have nothing more about him and can find no trace of him apart from that one census.
If anybody has any information on Seabrook Young 1803, please, please contact me.
