Searching for descendants of John Armstrong (parents: Robert & Lilles Armstrong) born c1828 Cumberland or Scotland. In 1861 he was a Private in the 2nd Life Guards at Windsor. Married Catherine Mahoney (father: Daniel Mahoney) 14 Aug 1861. By 1871 was a Fly Proprietor living in Clewer and had children: Lillie born c1864, Arthur c1866, Herbert or Robert c1867, Jessie born 31 Oct 1871. John had died by 1881 and his widow remarried about 1883 to George Blake a Superintendent of Police, still living Clewer.

Barnards and Durdants - (Clewer Village - Berkshire)
Abell Barnard, Gent of Windsor Castle said he had 11 children and a wife buried in Clewer Churchyard before 1646, and was himself buried there in 1659. A daughter called Katheren married a Durdant. Abell's brother or cousin Joell Barnard also lived in Clewer and was Vicar there in 1652. These families do not show up much in the record. Any inf would be gratefully received.

I'm trying to trace the ancestors of Mary Hind who married James Bradley 06/10/1791 at Cookham Berkshire. I believe her parents were John Hind and Sarah but I can find no trace of them for Cookham. I am searching for details of Sarah Shorthose who live in Cookham in 1881 at a house named The Woodlands. Sarah was 60 years in 1881 and unmarried, and was born in Staffordshire and returned 'home' for burial. Would like to know where The Woodlands in Cookham can be found also, even if knocked down now. Sarah didn't have an occupation but had many servants and a companion. Please can you help.

The Pinkeny family (various spellings) held a number of manors in and around Cookham between 1086 and 1430, the last member that I have managed to trace so far was an Arnold de Pinckney and his sister Joan (1430) Joan married a member of the de Whitehead family and in due course I believe she inherited her brothers holdings. i am looking for any information on thomas austin(dob ? 1854 in tetsworth)(i think he was employed as a coachman), his wife alice (dob ?1858 in whippingham-isle of wight, daughters margaret(dob ? 1879 in wheatfield - oxford),and christina(dob ? 1880in wheatfield - oxford)and (i hope he is) their son thomas edward (dob ? 188?).thomas edward ran away when he was about 13 and became a seaman (eventually a 2nd engineer)and lived in n.s.w. Australia. he died in 1930 leaving a wife (violet may austin) and 1 son (my father)and 4 daughters).thomas edward and his wife were married in 1910. thomas edward was also known by the nickname of 'tibby'. any information about the family (especially the son - thomas edward)would be greatly appreciated as there is not a lot known about my grandfather's(thomas edward)family or his history.
