My grandmother Evelyn Annie Bright was the illegitimate daughter of William Chandler, born at Betchworth Surrey abt 1867. She lived with her Aunt & Uncle, Esther & Henry Alexander at Burnt Hill, from childhood until she married my grandfather John Marshall in 1885. I am trying to find the name of her mother. I can find no trace of registration of birth nor record of baptism. Any information would be welcome.

Our surname is Anglo-Norman-Irish, so Capt. Edmund's family (father? grandfather?) may have emigrated from Ireland to England. Any information or suggestions would be appreciated!
