Brooker family (prior abt.1870) - Shurlock Row
Looking for info. on the Brooker family prior to about 1870. From that period to 1940 my grandfather and father (Harry and Gilbert)ran the building and undertakers business under the name of "H.Brooker & Son".The workshop and yard were adjacant the house named "Abbeville" situated approx quarter mile West of the village centre. Information on the old "brewery" that used to exist to the North of the village would also be appreciated.

St. Andrew's C of E School - Sonning
I went to St. Andrew's School in the 1950s when Mr Chapman was Headmaster. I have caught up with some of the "girls" on my trips back to England but where are the "boys"? Nicky Strong, John Freemantle and Douglas and Stephen Hamilton are a few I remember. Also what happened to Rosemary Holloway, Veronica Miller and my friend Kathy Andrews who lived on the island at Sonning Lock? ATTWELL NEVILLE 1800 onwards - Sonning
My husband is descended from John ATTWELL (born 1822 in Sonning), child of Robert and Sarah ATTWELL. John married Sarah NEVILLE there on 17/2/1849 (daughter of John and Mary NEVILLE). John ATTWELL worked as a sawyer in the town until his death in Sep qtr of 1877, whilst his widow Sarah was still living there in an almshouse on the 1901 census. Their children were John (b1849); Ambrose (b1850) and twins Victoria Mary (aka Mary) & Albert Joseph (b1860). This second John married Elizabeth DAWKINS (b c1850 in Bishopstone by Salisbury, Wilts) between 1871-1881 and they went on to have four children Ada Mary (b1876/7 Molsey Surrey, or Fareham Kent); John George Herbert (known as George b c1879 same places); Amy (b1881 Faversham) and Ernest James (b1883 Luddenham, Kent). I will happily share any information with others researching any of these lines.

Lawrence Butcher, master blacksmith, was born in South Moreton, C.1800. He married Ann Johnson, born in Aldworth C.1801, and they had at least five children. George was born in Aldworth, Harriett in Moulsford, Martha in Cholsey and Ann and William in Brightwell. Lawrence and Ann seem to have spent most of their married life in Brightwell.

I am looking for any connections to a Charlotte Lambourne who married Henry Keen (aka George Keen)on 23rd October 1848 in Stanford in the Vale; witnesses were Thomas Keen and Elizabeth Keen. Their daughter Sophia Keen (my g.grandmother) was born in Buckland, Farrringdon, Berks and the birth cert shows mother as Charlotte and father as Henry. On 24th November 1874 Sophia married in Stanford in the Vale to Thomas Goddard and she gave her father's name as George Keen (deceased). Witnesses to Sophia's marriage were Loveden (aka Loveding) Lambourne and Sarah Lockhead.
