I understnd my ggfather William Buckie ws born in Reading abt 1855. He was still alive in 1930, but I cannot find his birth nor much else apart from 1901 census. His family were from Scotland. His wife was called Elizabeth and his children were samuel, Ada (my grandmother), Walter and Edwin. He was a Railway porter and later transported parcels for the Railway. The children were born in Charing, Kent, Camberwell and Dulwich.
A member has kindly helped here - the key was a spelling change from Buckee. I am still working on this thread and now know William married Elizabeth Brundle b abt 1829 in Shropham, Norfolk.

Henry and Isabella White and their family
- Reading
Can anyone help me with information about Henry Whites family?
He was born in Reading about1808. He married a woman from Glasgow named Isabella Murray at St Marys Church on 18.2.1827. Their first 2 children Charles and Harriet Matilda (my great great grandmother),were born in Reading but the family then moved to the Spitalfields area of East London and then had Isabella, Mary,Jane and Elizabeth. They all worked as silk handloom weavers. I cannot find out who Henrys parents were but believe they could be Harriet and William White from Broad Street. I would love to hear from anyone who could help me to confirm this.

My great-grandfather Richard Roake was a huntsman (I believe he was Master of Foxhounds) and manager of Kennels in Bath Road, Tilehurst between 1850 and 1891. His wife was Mary, and his children were, Annie,(My Grandmother, who married John Blandy Roe of Whitchurch),George,Harry.Frank,Kate, Nellie,Mabel,(Edmund and Reginald.
