JORDAN - Abingdon
Any information on David Jordan's family or any of his decendants greatfully received. David came originally from Dorchester (b 1840) he married Elizabeth (b abt 1840 Abingdon. They had 7 children. Does anyone know anything about his sons Charles T Jordan (b1862), William (b1867) Albert (B1880)and Job (1868). Job had 4 sons and a daughter and all the boys fought in the 1st WW. Any ideas on what happened to the 3 survivors, Frank, Albert and Herbert? Many thanks.

Looking for information on Jane Wise, born 1829 married Edmund Hartwell 1852, died around 1875. 1841 census has her living on Stone Hill Farm, Sutton Courtney, Sutton Wick with a family, George and Sarah Hosker. Jane was possibly there as a domestic servant.

John & Richard were charged with stealing 2 horses and sentenced to death. Later Richard was sent to Australia where he led an eventful life.

My great great grandfather Thomas Bye and his wife Elizabeth (nee Wyatt) lived in Thatcham (Berks) where they are recorded in the 1851 and 1861 censuses. He was born about 1817 in Abingdon, she about 1818 in Marlborough (Wilts). I am anxious to find details of their birth and ancestors.

Charles was born 1802 in Berkshire. Was one of the "Berkshire Machine Breakers - Captain Swing and the 1830 Riots". Married Martha Bearfield on 23 July 1827 at Aldworth Berkshire. Believe they had two children, a girl aged 3 and a boy 18 months. Trial Place: Reading, Trial Year: 1830, Sentence: 14 years, Age: 28. Transported to Australia on "Eleanor" from Portsmouth on 19 Feb 1831. Left wife and children behind. Looking for any relatives/descendants in UK.

Searching for a William Lowe who worked as a chauffeur in the late 1920s until at least 1932. He may have served in the armed forces. Maybe there is somebody who knew of him? He knew my husbands' grandmother and we would like to find out anything about him. they may have worked in service at the same place together in either Berkshire or Wiltshire. She was then known as Marjorie Bowery and was a maid.
