George
- Keysoe
I am researching the family of my great-grandmother Louisa George who was born in Keysoe in 1863. Her father was John George, her mother Jane Page, and she had at least four siblings, Harriet, Isaac, Jacob and Joseph. Part of my problem is that virtually everyone living in Keysoe seems to have been a George or a Page. Any help welcomed. Many thanks.

Knotting
- Knotting
Knotting/Knotting Green was home to many of my relatives during the 1800's, including my gg grandfather WILLIAM, whose gravestone is one of the few still legible in Knotting churchyard. I have his marriage and death details, but have never found any record of his birth (c.1803) or baptism. Anybody help? Sometimes the surname has been shown as SAWFOOT, and a John Sawfoot is shown as being born in Melchbourne (next village) in the right year, but I've no further record of him either....One and the same man???

Flemons Family
- Leighton Buzzard
Starting before 1700, there was a series of Joseph Flemons (father and son) who were corn millers in Leighton Buzzard.
The Flemons gave up milling around 1850, as it was too unhealthy and gave rise to early deaths.
The family was supposed to have originated in Flanders and may have been Protestant Walloons, exiled because of their faith, by the Spanish.

corkett - caldicott
- Leighton Buzzard
It has been suggested that the name caldicott changed circa 1760-1820 to Corkit then Corket then Corkett which it has remained till today. I am interested in establishing a link with the nucleus of Corkett's at Leighton Buzzard, the largest cluster globally and the spelling change back to the proposed original version of the name as listed in Reaney's Dictionary of Surnames. I do have a dictionary of 400 listed Corkett's in the world dated about 1998, which may be helpful to others building family trees.

Brandham, Brandam
- Leighton Buzzard
Joseph Brandham or Brandam was born in 1818/19 to Joseph and Elizabeth Brandam and christened at All Saints in Leighton Buzzard. The IGI gives him also a brother Thomas and a sister Eliza. I've been unable to find any other record of the family after that in censuses or FreeBMD, except for young Joseph, who joined the army and was in Montreal, Canada in 1841 and ended up in New Zealand. Did the family emigrate? Where to? Any information on them would be much appreciated.
