William and Mary Gray and their children, William, Emma, Maryann and John, migrated to Sydney from Bedfordshire in 1849, probably from Toddington or Harlington. Mary died in Sydney in 1850. William married Jemimah Richards (probably from Wales) and they moved to Melbourne about 1853. Their children included Caroline, Kezia, Benjamin and Arthur. William was a brickmaker and active in the Coburg area of Melbourne until his death in 1876. Any information on their English forebears or Australian descendants would be welcome.

Nelson Savage JACKSON was born at Sundon 23 Jan 1825 to parents; Ann JACKSON b 1806 at Sundon and John HARRIS b 1803 at Sundon.
Nelson married Sarah HORNE b 1827 at Tilsworth. They married in Sundon 8 May 1847. They emmigrated to Australia in 1847 aboard the SS GILMORE with 3 children and settled on the New South Wales south coast at Milton near Ulladulla where they raised a total of 12 children before moving to the north coast and settling at Knockrow near Byron Bay. They were involved in pioneering the dairy industry.

Could anyone help me please with information on my great grandad who was born in Westoning in 1883, his name is George William Short his mum is Elizabeth Short wich I beleive is her maiden name. After searching the sensus of 1891 and 1901 I am unable to find his where he lived. I am guesing that he could have been born out of wedlock which would have meant he would have left his mother to be looked after elsewhere. I have George,s birth cirtificate but unfortunatly his dad is not listed. George went to reside in Hucknall Nottingham and got married in 1903 in Hucknall.
