George Hancock

My Great-Great Grandfather, George Hancock was born in Riseley in about 1854 the son of John and Maria Hancock. He had at least one sibling - a younger sister, Charlotte. He married Elizabeth Roberts on 26 11 1875 at All Saints Church, Riseley. Onboth the 1881 and 1891 censuses they were living in the High Street, Riseley.
George's father was John Hancock. I believe him to be dead by 1881.
George & Elizabeth had eight children Emily b 1877 and Ada b 1879 were the eldest and only girls. The brothers were known by the following nicknames: Tip, Tinker, Fake, Ginger, Oliver Cromwell & Jerry. I'm not sure why! thier real names were John, James, Jospeh, Arthur, Leonard and Percy. James and Joseph were bith killed in the FirstWorld War. They are commemorated on the church war memorial, but there names had been forgottern until I discovered them recently.
Emily, Ada and Leonard are all buried in Riseley churchyard, but their graves are unmarked. Arthur is buried there with his wife.

I'm looking for any information relating to my PORTER family, residing in Risely from about 1775 onwards. William & Mary had 10 children, but I have had very little success in finding any information about them - the majority of the children do not appear on any Census. The exeptions are Barzilia, who married Sophia Flavell in 1843 and I think they emigrated to Australia, and William who married Catherine Walker in 1853 who went on to have 9 Children. I would love to hear from anyone who has any links to this family.
