John Brown of Aspley Guise
- Aspley Guise
I have traced my mother’s Brown family back to John Brown b. 1769 m. 3 Nov 1797 d. 19 Jun 1842 Age 73 in in Aspley Guise Beds. His wife was Ann Grummitt b. 1770 d. 11 Jun 1839 (died in Husborne Crawley buried in Aspley Guise). Marriage of John Brown & Ann Grummitt is in Aspley Guise (A.G.) parish register 3 Nov 1797 stating botp (both of this parish)? But the Parish register for Aspley Guise is missing for the period Jul 1705 -1774, entries taken from Bishops Transcripts, but B.T’s missing for 1768-1770. So I have hit the preverbal brick wall, I cannot find there baptisms and more importantly either of there parents to go back another generation.
My Brown’s are all Ag Labs and Johns son William Brown b. 1800 and his daughter where Ag Labourer and servant respectively at Crawley House (Census info). Anybody else have a link to John Brown, Ann Grummitt in Aspley Guise?
